Description: Social service database service. The database gives business users extensive ad hoc reporting, querying and analysis capabilities. It is used to analyze caseload dynamics, do mandated reporting, contain costs, increase revenues, manage budgets, place liens and claims, detect fraud and abuse, and respond to auditors. Hundreds of users run 12,000 reports and ad hoc queries monthly. Explain complex issues in clear, non-technical language. Train users to use a complex computer system to obtain data through ad hoc queries. Act as a motivator and ”change agent” in a very large municipal agency. Develop an in-depth understanding of agency operations and priorities, analyze user queries and user business needs. Represent project to high level agency managers and executives.
Requirements: Excellent skills oral and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical and presentation. Experience with public policy and/or research analysis (preferred), writing queries in SQL (preferred) and providing training (strongly preferred).
Preferred is a Master of Public Administration [MPA], Master of Social Work [MSW], Master of International Affairs [MIA] or Master of Business Administration [MBA] with experience in non-profit or government. Public policy background, preferably in Social Services, Education or Health Care.
Understanding of New York City’s Health and Human Services Agencies.
